Bruce LaBruce Collection in Collaboration with Damien Blottiere and Print All Over Me
100% Cotton Long Sleeve Button Down
Made to Order Sustainable Production - Can take up to 3 weeks to fulfill.
Collaboration between contemporary artists Bruce LaBruce and Damien Blottière, and PAOM, in the creation of an exclusive apparel collection.
Blottière was given free reign to use LaBruce’s photographs spanning across his extensive career, including photographs, film stills, movie posters and polaroids as basis for unique, project specific collages that expand on their narrative trough layering, juxtapositions and morphing compositions and shapes. The collages consist of 12 works that portray surreal displays of sexual scenarios, tensions and embodiments, “transmogrifying the subjects into some kind of gendernauts of porn future”. Textual overlays command Queercore manifestations from LaBruce’s iconic writings."
Bruce LaBruce (b. 1963, Canada) is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker, photographer, writer, and artist based in Toronto. Along with a number of short films, he has written and directed nine feature films. As a visual artist he is represented by Peres Projects in Berlin, and has had numerous gallery shows around the world. His work explores themes of sexual and interpersonal transgression of cultural norms, with an interest in extreme topics, which mainstream audiences might dismiss as shocking or disturbing taboos. LaBruce has written and directed three theatrical works at the Hau Theater in Berlin as well as theatrical works at the Theater Neumarkt in Zurich, Switzerland. Most recently, LaBruce was honoured with a film retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, 2015.
Damien Blottière (b. 1977, France) studied Fashion at Duperré art school in Paris. Always interested in images and photography, he worked first as fashion editor for magazines: Mixt(e), Purple Fashion and Dazed & Confused, until he decided to devote himself to his photography and collage work. Blottière gathers images and composes by hand organically shaped collages with a surrealist language that function as an open window into a world of fantasy. He has collaborated closely with Bernhard Willhelm and has also worked for brands that include Pierre Hardy, Louis Vuitton and Carven, as well as a long list of high profile international periodicals.
