Pablo Rios

Pablo Rios is an artist blending historic traditions with emerging technologies, exploring cultural identity and commodified production. He has received honors such as Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery’s Best Emerging Artist (2001-2002) and the Dorothy Stevens Award (2005). His work, featured in Ion Magazine (Canada, 2007) and Die Gestalten Verlag (Germany, 2007), theorizes future possibilities and adapts technologies in novel ways, sparking conversations and inspiring new uses beyond familiar applications. Rios aims to communicate urgent concerns to both academia and the general public.
