About The Exhibition

CULTUREEDIT Gallery is pleased to announce an online exhibition of photography by Luis Venegas coinciding with the release of the latest issues of The Intim Mates News Paper.

The Intim Mates News Paper is an ongoing visual publication designed, edited and independently published by Luis Venegas featuring photographic portfolios taken in intimate collaboration between photographers and male models, portraying a space and freedom in print where nudity is celebrated. In a time of increased censorships and online platforms, the publication reintroduces the role of printed matter in the art of nudity. The two most recent issues of Intim Mates are photographed by Luis Venegas and Trevor Stones.

The exhibition includes 49 photographs of 8 male models that Venegas has shot recently for the 3rd issue.Utilizing a the same 35 mm camera that he as used for the past 20 years, Venegas style captures moments of unrestraint and spontaneous intimacy.

I met these boys to make these photos and after that we’ve kept an ongoing quite friendly relationship with most of them. Very probably I’ll keep taking photos of them in the next years, if they like the idea.

Luis Venegas is a Spanish artist based in Madrid, and also is the Founder, Creative Director, Editor and Publisher of Fanzine137, different EY! formats, C☆ndy Transversal, The Printed Dog and The Intim Mates News Paper. Since 2004 Venegas is an uncompressed voice who contributes to and challenges the publishing world across fashion, art and culture. Each highly collectible publication is made available in a scarce edition, distributed only via the finest stores around the world. Venegas work as photographer, writer and creative director has appeared in magazines that includes Interview, Apartamento, SSAW, Acne Paper, Dust, Pin-Up, Butt, i-D, Dazed, Man About Town and Gayletter. He has also been commissioned by brands that include Rizzoli NYC, Loewe, Acne Studios, Rimowa, Carolina Herrera, Gucci, Levi's, Eytys, JW Anderson and Ludovic de Saint Sernin, among others.
