Bo Romero Dreyer
Bo is a multidisciplinary artist based in Halifax. His artistic development has primarily been independent, with some previous formal art education. His body of work can be divided in two sections based on digital or analog mediums. A current passion of Bo's at this time is an interest in robot dogs. This exploration is largely done through oil pastel and/or gouache "portraits", but is also explored in the digital half of his body of work; a project known as DESKTOP DOG. The application of "dog" as a metaphor for the design and intended use of these robots is one that reflects his experiences in a number of ways. Gender identity, the artmaking process, interpersonal relationships, and beyond - he creates representations of these and breaks down personal elements through these dogs."
